Day Hiking in Bouddi National Park.

Bouddi Point

The opportunity to go on day hikes was one of my driving forces for joining Diamonds. Of course, I’ve discovered much more with improved hiking skills, fitness and exploration, resulting from joining the regular Trek Training sessions in my area. I’m feeling more confident and even found the courage to sign-up for a multi-day hike to Tasmania at the end of November. The Bouddi 25km full-day hike with Diamonds was a first for me, and an important step in my preparation as well as an opportunity to explore this stunning landscape so close to Sydney.

Hiking to Box Head

It is a great pleasure to have someone else do all the planning, telling you exactly what to bring, have the route all sorted, have morning and afternoon tea handed to you and have a beautiful lunch ready to go. Knowing that I was doing the hike with such an experienced, fun and fit group of women took away any concerns I might have and allowed me to fully enjoy the hike and the great company.

The Team!

The walk itself was magnificent and covered a wide range of terrain with beautiful beaches, a bit of rock scrambling, a bit of mud and a fantastic range of coastal bush.

Enjoying parts of the Bouddi Coastal Walk on our 25km hike.

The rain dispersed soon after we started and it turned out to be perfect walking weather. Our squiggly/sucky friends tried to come along for a ride and thanks to the calm response from others, I’m feeling more comfortable with their presence.

Bush trails and stunning wildflowers.

Thankyou to all for a great day and to Michele and Jo for organizing and leading on the day.

The remote and picturesque Maitland Bay.
