Hacking River Kayak and Hike
by Kath
The Diamonds in the Rough Adventures, Royal National Park Hacking River Kayak and Coastal Hike was an amazing adventure to start the new year! Twelve of us embarked on a day involving 12 km of kayaking followed by three hours of hiking along the coast.
The kayaking was an incredible experience with great conditions and the time flew by as our minds were stimulated by the Port Hacking river’s varied landscapes, flora and fauna. Lots of laughter and chatter along the way kept us distracted from the long paddle too.
The rain hit us at lunchtime as we arrived at Bonnie Vale campground. It did not stop Michele from creating a marvellous and scrumptious lunch and time for some rest and recovery before we embarked on our hike.
After lunch, we headed off on a three-hour hike around the Bundeena coast and cliffs. Jo took us on an unfamiliar track and on varied terrains along the coast. The views from the cliffs were breathtaking!
Thankyou Jo and Michel for a wonderful and memorable day!
