Over four days we explore some magic locations visiting historic stockman's and miners’ huts in Kosciuszko National Park. Historic huts we visit could include Cascade Hut, Teddies Hut, Tin Mines Hut, Carter's Hut, Horse Camp Hut, Whites River Hut and Disappointment Spur Hut.  We will set up an awesome base camp at one of the huts (a medium-grade hike from the cars).

TOUR DETAILS

  • Trip Duration: 6 days - 2 nights lodge accommodation, 3 nights camping

  • Start date: 3 pm Thursday, Nov 28, Kookaburra Lodge, 10 Clyde St, Jindabyne

  • Grade: Moderate (able to hike 10km with a full pack)

  • Start and finish Location: Kookaburra Lodge, Jindabyne

  • Activities: 4 days of alpine hiking, 3 nights bush camping beside a hut, visits and historical information on alpine huts. Full-pack hike to base camp and return. Day packs from base camp each day.

  • Included: 2 nights lodge accommodation, K7 mountain guide, 2 lodge breakfasts and final night celebratory dinner. You will be required to hire or bring your own camping, and cooking equipment and meals while on the trails. The huts also have water, a drop toilet, a potbelly-type firebox & offer shelter from the elements if the weather comes in.

  • Not Included: National Park’s Visitor/Car entry fee – we will carpool, meals when camping and dinner on Day 1, personal clothing and camping equipment (hire available).

  • Group size: 6 women and your Diamonds Coach who will support you every step of the way
