Campfire Peach Crumble

This delicious dessert is easy to pre-prepare, ready to impress your fellow campers. Makes 3-4 serves.

You will need to pack

  • Approx 3 cups peaches - fresh or in a plastic jar

Combine the following ingredients in a zip-lock bag to make the crumble

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon flour, any kind

  • 1/3 cup pecans, chopped

  • 2 tablespoon of brown sugar

  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  • pinch of salt

Create a 20 cm square tin foil pouch.

Layer the fruit and crumble topping into the tin foil pouch by first adding half of the fruit to the pouch and then 1/3 of the crumble topping over the peaches. Then, add the rest of peaches followed by the last 2/3 of the crumble topping. Fold the top of your tin foil pouch over and seal the edges with your fingers making sure there are no holes for air to escape from.  Place in or on the campfire 15-20 minutes or until the top of your crumble is a golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.  Carefully remove from fire, let cool for 2-3 minutes.

Impress even more by making up some powdered custard.
